Use this form to tell Editors Portal what kind of document you need help with, the word count, deadline, subject area and the level of editing or proofreading you think you need. A clear enquiry helps route your request towards suitable editor categories.

What happens after you submit an enquiry?

Your enquiry is logged in the Editors Portal system and can be shared with suitable editor members based on the information you provide. Editors can then decide whether the document is a good fit for their services, availability and expertise.

The more specific your enquiry is, the easier it is for editors to respond usefully. A message that says “I need proofreading” is much harder to assess than a message that explains the document type, word count, deadline, English variant and what you are worried about.

What to include in your enquiry

The more detail you provide, the easier it is for editors to understand the scope, deadline and level of support you need. You do not need to know the exact editing term — just describe the document and what you want improved.

01

Document type

Dissertation, thesis, book manuscript, report, CV, application, website copy or AI-generated content.

02

Word count

Approximate total words, and whether the whole document or only selected sections need review.

03

Deadline

Your ideal return date, any fixed submission date and whether the work is urgent.

04

Service level

Whether you think you need proofreading, copyediting, deeper editing or you are not sure.

05

Subject or audience

Academic subject, business sector, book genre, reader type or publication context.

06

Specific concerns

Grammar, clarity, tone, flow, repetition, referencing, formatting or confidence in the writing.

No file upload needed at this stage. A clear summary is enough to help route your enquiry to suitable editor categories. An editor can request the document later if they need to assess the scope in more detail.

Useful guides before requesting quotes

Do I have to upload a document?

No. At launch, Editors Portal focuses on structured enquiry details rather than file upload to keep the process simpler and reduce privacy and storage complexity.

Will every editor see my enquiry?

The intention is to route enquiries around suitable categories and editor profiles, rather than making every enquiry visible to everyone.

Can I request help urgently?

Yes, but include the exact deadline and word count. Short deadlines may reduce the number of available editors.
